Why Clean Books Get You a Better Business Loan
Two businesses with the same turnover can walk out of a bank with very different results. One gets a sanction at a good rate within days; the other is asked for clarifications for weeks and then declined. The difference is very often the state of their books.
Lenders cross-check three sources. Your income tax return shows profit, your GST returns show turnover, and your bank statement shows the money that actually moved. A lender reads all three together. When sales in your GST returns are far above the credits in your bank account, or your ITR shows a profit your bank balance cannot support, the file raises questions.
Profit on paper matters. Businesses sometimes show a very low profit to reduce tax, then need a large loan the next year. Loan eligibility is largely calculated from the profit you have declared, so under-reporting it today reduces what you can borrow tomorrow.
Timely filing is itself a signal. Returns filed late, or filed in a rush at the last minute, tell a lender that the business is not closely managed. A clean, on-time filing history makes approval faster.
Keep debtors and stock records current. For working capital limits, lenders size the loan from your stock and receivables. Up-to-date ledgers let you show exactly what you hold and what you are owed — and get a limit that matches it.
Start before you need the loan. Books cannot honestly be fixed the week before you apply. The businesses that borrow best are the ones whose accounts are kept properly all year round.
This is why Gatiman Global Finance Corp handles loans, tax and accounting under one roof. We keep your books and returns consistent through the year, so when you need funding, your numbers are ready to support it.
